Process and operations optimization in a high mix-low volume environment

Public

A disproportionate amount of Scientific Atlanta's resources are involved in the testing of products. In order to facilitate continuous improvement in cellular manufacturing, the focus should be on quality process development. True quality improvement will ultimately arise from a proficient process, not efficient testing, and involves a fundamental redistribution of resources, with focus on prevention costs. This report offers several alternative solutions to improving quality and optimizing manufacturing operations for Scientific Atlanta.

  • This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement. WPI routinely publishes these reports on its website without editorial or peer review.
