The goal is to develop an inhibiting drug for a kinase pathway associated with a particular target disease. The main focus at Abbott is autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis and pro-inflammatory diseases. This MQP details the initial process that each kinase goes through in order to understand compound inhibition under conditions that take into consideration the effects of a physiological environment, and shows the application to one specific kinase, COT. An inhibitor of the kinase was identified that acts in an ATP-competitive manner. These processes allow for screening of thousands of compounds against any kinase that can be isolated and characterized."; "Worcester Polytechnic Institute"; "2005-12-15"; "2005"; "2020-01-15T15:15:43.141372565-05:00"^^; "E-project-121505-033950"; ; "2023-12-05T13:29:19.616864157-05:00"^^; "Major Qualifying Project"; "Biology & Biotechnology"; ; ; "http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"; ; ; "This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement.
