Distributed data acquisition

Public

This Major Qualifying Project involved the design and construction of a distributed data acquisition system that implements image capture, image processing, inventory control and quality control. This system uses the CORBA middleware approach to implement a distributed system that is platform independent, fault tolerant, scalable, and cost-effective. The completed system spanned four computers, was written in C++ and Java, and could control two independent cameras and five servers from within a single cross-platform Java Swing-based graphical user control interface.
