Electrospinning of poly(acrylic acid)
PublicStimuli-sensitive polymers such as poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) form the basis of many biomedical applications such as drug delivery systems and wound healing devices. The purpose of this project was to develop the conditions for electrospinning a porous network of fibers with PAA. The feasibility of microscopic shape memory in the electrospun PAA was examined. The results show that PAA can be electrospun at voltages between 25 to 35 kV with solution containing glyoxal, water, and about 38 to 46 wt% PAA.
