The main objective of the project was to determine the size, number, capacity, and location of emergency interconnections throughout the water distribution systems of several Metro-Boston communities that are serviced by the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority. The role of the WPI undergraduate student, was to use the information gathered from the MWRA supplied towns to generate hydraulic computer models, as well as to run simulations with those models.
