VHDL implementation of automatic cloud cover assessment algorithm

Public

NASA uses the Automatic Cloud Coverage Assessment (ACCA) algorithm to determine the ratio of cloud cover to non-cloud cover in an image from the Landsat 7 satellite. In an attempt to reduce the overall processing time of the algorithm NASA, has converted Pass I of the ACCA from C++ programming language to VHDL. However, the VHDL implementation of Pass I creates an inaccurate cloud mask. This project details the methods used to debug and test the VHDL implementation of Pass I.
