Affinity partitioning of human serum albumin from chicken egg white

Public

The intent of this project was to determine optimal separation conditions for the use of affinity partitioning to separate human serum albumin from chicken egg whites. The two-phase PEG-DEX system was analyzed and the use of a PEG-palmitate affinity ligand was investigated. It was our goal to determine the system conditions that would lead to the highest possible recovery of HSA from the system. Also completed was a proposal for an industrial-scale separation process for the system conditions that were deemed optimal.
