Best-fit load balancing for a Beowulf cluster

Public

PANTS Application Node Transparency System (PANTS) is a set of programs designed for a Beowulf cluster of Linux computers that provides automatic and transparent load sharing of processes. One of the limitations to PANTS is its inability to pick the optimal node to handle a job request. Our revisions to this software allow it to choose the node with the resource capabilities that best fit the application's resource usage type, optimizing system usage and significantly reducing its execution time.
