This project, sponsored by Speedline Technologies, Inc., presents the preliminary design of a tooling pin recovery system. Prototype devices to orient the tooling pins that are used to support printed circuit boards during production, were designed, produced, and tested. Based on the results of the tests and the performance of the prototypes, a preliminary system design has been developed for further investigation. Recommendations have been made for system hardware, operational logic, and system implementation.
