The‌ ‌goal‌ ‌of‌ ‌this‌ ‌project‌ ‌was‌ ‌to‌ ‌aid‌ ‌the‌ ‌directors‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌Hawaiʻi,‌ ‌Australia,‌ ‌and‌ ‌New‌ ‌Zealand‌ ‌project‌ ‌centers‌ ‌in‌ ‌launching‌ ‌the‌ ‌Oceania‌ ‌Hub.‌ ‌To‌ ‌do‌ ‌this,‌ ‌the‌ ‌team‌ ‌conducted‌ ‌semi-structured‌ ‌interviews‌ ‌with‌ ‌the‌ ‌leaders‌ ‌of‌ ‌regional‌ ‌programs‌ ‌inside‌ ‌and‌ ‌outside‌ ‌of‌ ‌WPI‌ ‌and‌ ‌developed‌ ‌an‌ ‌action‌ ‌plan‌ ‌for‌ ‌the‌ ‌Oceania‌ ‌Hub‌ ‌based‌ ‌on‌ ‌what‌ ‌the‌ ‌team‌ ‌learned‌ ‌about‌ ‌their‌ ‌programs.‌ ‌Based‌ ‌on‌ ‌research,‌ ‌the‌ ‌team‌ ‌‌authored‌ ‌a‌ ‌monograph‌ ‌on‌ ‌Oceania‌ ‌that‌ ‌emphasizes‌ ‌the‌ ‌theme‌ ‌of‌ ‌Indigenous‌ ‌knowledge‌ ‌and‌ ‌identity,‌ ‌while‌ ‌covering‌ ‌the‌ ‌geography,‌ ‌history,‌ ‌culture,‌ ‌and‌ ‌environmental‌ ‌issues‌ ‌of‌ ‌Oceania.‌ ‌The‌ ‌project‌ ‌center‌ ‌directors‌ ‌will‌ ‌use‌ ‌the‌ ‌monograph‌ ‌to‌ ‌deepen‌ ‌their‌ ‌understanding‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌region.‌ ‌
