Self-assembly of silicalite-1 nanocrystals into ion-exchange resin

Public

Silicalite-1 microspheres using Dowex® ion-exchange resin as a macrotemplate were prepared in the size range of .5-.65 mm, using hydrothermal synthesis times of 25 h, 35 h,and 45 h at 80 o C. Steaming time and temperature studies were also performed, to deduce the effect on the quality of the calcined product. It was concluded that a 45 h hydrothermal synthesis step followed by steaming for 24 h and calcining up to 550 o C for 5 h gave a product with high XRD crystallinity.
