Environmental quality assessment of George's Bank

Público

This project used acoustic measures of fish populations and water temperature data to determine the environmental quality of the New England fishery that consists of parts of the Gulf of Maine and George's Bank. These data and water temperature data were used to model herring Growth Rate Potential (GRP), the amount of growth predicted for fish with known prey availability and environmental conditions. GRP analyses show that more than 90% of the environment surveyed could support positive herring growth.
