The recent concept of sustainable design has emerged to construct buildings that are better for the environment. Sustainable buildings use innovative building practices, incorporate alternative energy sources, and utilize local natural resources, which benefits the environment and community. WPI is a leader in technological education and, to remain at the forefront of progressive academic communities, the campus must look to incorporate sustainability in future construction activities and consider repairing current buildings to meet guidelines for existing buildings.
