Lean industrial template for the production of a mid-size automotive space frame

Public

The goal of this project is to propose a preliminary lean production template to manufacture an automotive frame for The Ford Motor Company. The frame must be designed and manufactured for a production of 225,900 mid sized cars for the 2007 Taurus. The frame must provide a minimum weight and maximum torsional stiffness while satisfying impact criteria. The template revolves around the design for manufacturing, line balancing, and quality function deployment concepts. A cost analysis of the manufacturing processes is also discussed.
