Transaction management and concurrency control issues in web and database centric application environments

Public

The Internet is the fastest growing medium for data exchange and commerce in the world. With the increasing volume of transactions on the World Wide Web, transaction management and concurrency in Web-based applications is critical. Existing and developing technologies were looked at and solutions for transaction control were prototyped and evaluated. The results indicate that while the basic structure for reliable transactions is available, it is all too common that negative results occur due to faulty implementation and current limitations of the technology.
