Hydrogen peroxide MEMS thruster plume analysis

Pubblico

This project addressed the development of procedures for measuring the percent decomposition in the plume of hydrogen peroxide MEMS thruster. Methods investigated and compared were chemiluminescence, array of paired thermocouples, in-chamber spectroscopy, captured plume gas-cell spectroscopy, and pressurization of a captured plume. A testing procedure was developed based on gas-cell spectroscopy method which uses the absorption of infrared light by hydrogen peroxide. Application of the procedure provided the mapping hydrogen peroxide for various concentrations, pressures and testing volumes.
