Object interoperability using XML

Public

This paper introduces an application framework for data interoperability using XML. This framework provides a number of core classes that allow applications to treat XML documents as homogenous graphs and to evaluate XPath expressions against such graphs. A mechanism that allows information to be exchanged between document types is also introduced. The ultimate goal is to attain an overall framework for interoperation where maintenance problems are minimized. As an example, a geospatial application for visualizing U.S. election results is presented.
