The regreening of Worcester

open in viewerThis report, prepared for the Forestry Division of the City of Worcester Parks, Recreation and Cemetery Department, recommends a process by which Worcester's urban forest can be improved through community involvement. We gathered information both from literature and by interviewing representatives of cities with flourishing urban forests, members of community groups, and urban foresters. We then developed a process that the Forestry Division can use to encourage community groups to get street trees planted in their neighborhoods, and we created a handbook to guide community members through this process step-by-step.
