Linear filter tilt mirror control for image stabilization

Public

The focus of this project was implementing a general linear filter to control a tip-tilt mirror in an adaptive optics setup. The project had three main goals: create a simulation of the control system, implement a test bench system, and port the test bench system into the full laboratory setup. Simulation was done via proprietary software which could emulate laboratory conditions. The main focus of the results was verifying filter behavior with expected results. The test bench result involved both wiring the hardware, and moving code into a real-time Linux environment. The results from this portion were matched against the simulation runs, and were tested at the Tyler frequency. Finally the setup was modified to work in the laboratory setup, and some sample results were collected.
