A team of students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) worked with the faculty, students, and partners at the Escuela Agrícola en Cerrito (Cerrito Agricultural School), Paraguay to strengthen the existing fire preparedness plan at the school. The team investigated the previous fire preparedness at the school, including staff needs and concerns, and used the findings to recommend changes to the plan. The team prepared a reusable drone workshop, fire evacuation drill, written and visual guidance for fire emergencies, electronic maps detailing fire prevention resources, recommendations for an addendum to an existing fire preparedness policy, and a renewed relationship between the Paraguayan Volunteer Fire Corps (Cuerpo de Bomberos Voluntarios del Paraguay, CVBP) and the school.
