Design of a reinforced building with a base isolated system for seismic protection

Public

Base isolation is an old concept used to absorb ground accelerations. Today, it is applied on large-scale structures (such as hospitals, skylines etc). This project explores a full design for a reinforced concrete building with a base isolator attached to its foundation. The ground acceleration is based on the worst case scenario (California). The project then analyzes the results of the case study.
