Student Work
Black-Hole Simulations
Public DepositedThis MQP used FANTASY, a prebuilt symplectic geodesic integrator for the purposes of studying complex spacetimes, to compute the paths of light rays under Schwartzschild and Kerr metrics in order to ray cast renderings of black holes. It outlines the code built in order to interface with FANTASY and generate first-person POV renderings of these black holes using any environment image chosen. The resulting images are studied in order to show known phenomena such as Einstein rings to show the code's accuracy.
