Structure and function within the Rab GTPase family

Public

Rab GTPases regulate vesicle trafficking in the cell and there are 37 functionally distinct members. This project began a molecular cloning library to facilitate a proteome wide quantitative analysis. This is the start of determining which RAB interactions are bona fide, which are not and give an insight into modes specificity. It will propel a structural study of Rab GTPases. This work clarifies a possible interaction between a Rab and an effector and shows the novel crystal structure of Rab33b.
