Thermal analysis of aluminum alloys

Public

This project's goals were to determine if the prototype thermocouple, the Conti Probe, could provide accurate cooling data in less than two minutes time. This cooling data was collected from sixteen different experiments, where data integrity and cooling rates were compared between two thermocouple types. It was concluded that the Conti Probe delivered a better quality of data while also producing results within the allotted timeframe. It was recommended that the product experimentation continue with reducing the size of the collection cup to increase the cooling rate. It was also recommended that a thermal analysis software package be developed for the Conti Probe.
