This project presents an AI-powered search engine designed to enhance information accessibility for students at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). The search engine evolved from a voice assistant prototype to a comprehensive system leveraging retrieval augmented generation and language models. Utilizing a knowledge base built from over 17,000 web pages, the search engine incorporates an LLM-based conversational component to generate informative responses to user queries, reducing the need for manual information searching. Future work includes expanding the knowledge base, implementing multilingual support, and integrating the search engine into WPI's official website to maximize its impact on the student community.
