Design of a non-intrusive device for the treatment of trichotillomania

Public

This project consisted of analyzing the problems associated with trichotillomania, which is a mental disorder related to Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and designing a nonintrusive device for the treatment of the same disease. The device uses static electricity to trigger a JFET which acts as the sensor circuit. The sensor creates pulses which are used to monitor the pulling of hair and can be used to first warn and then punish the user.
