The Portable digital audio recorder

Public

The purpose of the project was the design and prototype implementation of a portable digital audio recorder. The design uses real-time compression to store analog audio signals as digital data in an on-board semiconductor memory. The prototype plays through uncompressed samples in stereo at 48KHz, records high-quality audio data in mono at 32KHz, and plays back the recorded samples in mono at 32KHz. The prototype also allows downloading digital audio data to a personal computer.
